I’m so glad you found your way here.

Welcome.

I specialize in perinatal therapy for professional women navigating traumatic birth experiences

and the emotional transition into motherhood.

We cannot ignore our pain and feel compassion for it at the same time.

-Brene Brown

Hi, I’m Colleen.

Welcome.

I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a licensed therapist specializing in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and the psychological transition into motherhood, also called Matrescence.

My work focuses on supporting women whose entry into motherhood has been more complex than expected—whether due to traumatic birth, medical complications, or the emotional demands of balancing professional life and new parenthood.

I believe that healing happens when women have a space where the full complexity of their experience is welcomed with curiosity, compassion, and clinical expertise.

Women who are used to carrying significant responsibility often struggle quietly when motherhood becomes overwhelming.

It can feel difficult to admit that something about this experience is not what you expected.

You do not have to navigate this transition alone.

With thoughtful support, it is possible to process what has happened, reconnect with yourself, and move forward into motherhood with greater steadiness and confidence.

If you’re looking for specialized support during pregnancy or early motherhood, I would be honored to work with you.

Please reach out below for a complimentary 20 minute phone consultation if you want to learn more.

More about Colleen’s Clinical Work and Training:

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio, and I  have 15 years of experience working in various counseling settings. I’ve worked in domestic violence organizations, a homeless shelter, college settings, with families affected by kids with cancer, in a private practice setting, led retreats and trainings and worked in immigration cases writing psychological evaluations for persons seeking asylum. Each setting has shaped the way I work and each have enriched my view of the world and what it means to seek out healing. I most recently received my PMH-C designation in 2025, as a certified perinatal mental health therapist.

How I work: I work creatively and collaboratively with each client. I seek to offer a warm, affirming, and engaging environment. I offer space to sit in the heavy and hard moments of your life with presence, tenderness and hope, while also helping you to grow your resilience and your ability to offer yourself grace and tenderness.

I believe that much of our sorrow and struggles are rooted in relational experiences in our past, and that similarly, there is healing to be found in not remaining alone in your experience. I invite clients to a gentle dance between current life stressors/struggles and impactful experiences of the past that maybe coloring how they experience their current relationships and stressors.

Background: I received my Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology in 2010 from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. After living and working for over 12 years in Seattle, my family and I packed up and moved back to my childhood town in Ohio. I’m happy to be back to the land of fireflies and thunderstorms!

Whatever brings you here, I would be honored to walk with you

as you seek to better understand yourself and come home to

yourself.
